Attention Louisville Colorado Film Lovers!

If you haven't already heard, Old Town Cinema is holding an end of summer screening at Steinbaugh Pavilion tomorrow, Saturday 29, 2012.  Doors open at 6 PM.  They will be showing "Grease," as well as holding the world premiere of the short "RAILS," which was produced through Old Town Cinema's "REEL Filmmakers" program.  There will be food, drinks, and other live performances, the film will start around 7:30 PM.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs. Donations are accepted at the door ($5 person/$10 family).

As a film lover, I'm really excited to see Old Town Cinema picking up steam.  They pulled off a successful kickstarter campaign to get the funding necessary for the screening at Steinbaugh Pavilion.  This is a great example of the community banding together to support fun, culturally rich programming.

In addition to screenings, Old Town Cinema provides educational programming for young adults.  The "RAILS" short that will be screened at tomorrow's event is one example of this educational programming.  It was produced through OTC's "REEL Filmmakers" summer program, in which high school and middle school students band together to write, shoot, and edit a film.

It's great to see educators and film/art professionals banding together to foster a love of film in Louisville, especially working to instill this love in Louisville's youth.

I hope this screening is just one more step in OTC's fast growth.

For more information about Old Town Cinema, please check out their facebook page, their website, or this beautiful poster for tomorrow's screening.
